Dr. Devi Shetty, Patron of ANBAI, Dr. Bipin Batra , Executive Director of National Board of Examinations, Dr. Anurag Agarwal, Additional Director of National Board of Examinations were the guests of honour.

Dr. Nagendra Swamy, President- Organizing Committee gave the welcome address and elaborated regarding the conference.

Dr. Alexander Thomas, President of ANBAI explained regarding the role of ANBAI as a mediator between National Board institutions and NBE.

Dr. Rajasekaran presented the secretary’s report, followed by Dr. H.S. Ballal who presented the Treasurer’s report.

Dr. Bipin Batra gave a talk about the new initiatives by the National Board.

Dr. Devi Shetty spoke about “Post Graduate Medical Education in India- the way forward”.

This was followed by an interactive open forum. Dr. Bipin Batra and Dr. Anurag Agarwal gave a presentation addressing some of the issues raised earlier by member institutions – PPT attached.

There was concerns regarding the fee structure. Dr. Batra explained that the National Board is considering increasing the DNB course fees. Details of this will be intimated later. Some of the institutions raised a concern regarding the poor pass percentage. Dr. Anurag gave the details of the pass percentage and said that the percentage pass is increasing. If more and more DNB Institutions come forward to conduct the practical exams then more examiners will be identified from the DNB Institutions.

Post lunch there was an informal and interactive session between DNB Residents, Dr. Bipin Batra and Dr. Anurag Agarwal. Many doubts were cleared and issues were clarified.
